Carmada- On Fire (Y2K Remix)
Y2K is the type of artist who would relish the opportunity to remix any song of any stature. No song is off limits to him, whether it is Ke$ha’s iconically obnoxious “Tik Tok” or the popular Israeli folk song that soundtracks Jewish celebrations everywhere, “Hava Nagila.” His newest project sees him joining an impressive remix package for Carmada‘s hit track “On Fire.” The song was part of Carmada’s four track EP Realise from last year, which showed off the duo’s unique production style. Joining Y2K on the “On Fire” remix package are some extremely talented artists like Australian future bass producer Naderi and the house legend Destructo.
Y2K’s version of “On Fire” begins with a slow immersion into an enchantingly dreamy soundscape with a calm piano melody and elegantly smooth pan flute. This transitions perfectly into the original’s soaring vocals, which Y2K subtly complements with uplifting future bass synths. The track’s energy is then abruptly released with an invigorating trap drop that is sure to leave you head bopping and vibing out. As has come to be expected with Y2K, the envelope pushing producer has once again knocked this remix out of the park.
