There will be one less even going on during the start of festival season in New York. AEG Live, who brought California Coachella, will be delaying the debut of New York’s version of Coachella in Panorama Music Festival. It was set to take place just a few weeks after Governor’s Ball, but will not be happening during their tentative dates due to issues securing permits with the Corona Park venue in Flushing Meadows, NY. Panorama is now pursuing a new date.
This announcement comes just two months after organizers of Governor’s Ball petitioned to the New York City Mayor to stop the festival from occurring during the same month as their festival. The petition eventually received over 8,000 signatures. It is unclear if the petition led to the delay of the debut of the music festival, but it should keep everyone happy and there should not be any competition for ticket sales and talent buying.
