Throttle x Earth, Wind, & Fire – September
Possibly a byproduct of the future house explosion, Disco seems to be returning to prominence by way of electronic dance music. Among a group of other up-and-coming producers influenced by the signature sound of the 70’s, Throttle prides himself on being a purveyor of “dirty disco.” The 19 year-old from Australia has now given fans perhaps his best work yet, a remix of the Earth, Wind, and Fire’s iconic “September.” Throttle refers to the band as one of his favorite acts, which doesn’t seem to be that big of a surprise if you are at all familiar with his previous tracks. While “September” has been remixed countless times, this is the first version to receive the band’s official blessing and the first time they’ve allowed an artist to use original sections of the track. Throttle does the original justice, with a modernized take that highlights the essence of what makes “September” great while updating it with a distinctly EDM twist.
