Oshi – Down For This (ft. KRS, BNJMN, Dutchboy & Tunji Ige)
Oshi has continued to stun the world with these forward looking tracks. This hip hop & future bass fusion is exactly what the EDM world needs to encourage. This kind of sound is not getting a 10pm festival slot, but it’s going to seep into your soul before it’s done. Oshi’s a wizard with these kinds of syncopated & tonally perfect tunes. While this isn’t something that you usually hear on EDMTunes, we wanted to showcase it because this kind of production work under hip hop vocals is what changes the industry. This is one of those tracks that reminds us what is possible. Trap has gotten a bad rap in recent years, but Oshi manages to create excellent work over and over. This track features three legit lyricists that you’ve never heard before, being pushed through inventive filters & a thousand better ideas than straight auto-tune. As we saw last week with Hopsin’s release people are done with dumb trap, and Oshi is the exact opposite of dumb trap.
