Lido + KORK – I Love You (Live)
They’re back! The combination of Lido and the KORK Orchestra brings about another powerhouse performance from the country of Norway. In August, we saw Lido perform a cover of BANKS’ song ‘Drowning’Â with the KORK Orchestra and just this week, it seems they’re back for more, this time performing a rework of his song ‘I Love You’.
KORK (short for Kringkastingsorkestret, or the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) consists of over 50 Norwegian musicians, all of whom joined Lido on stage at the Sildajazz festival in Norway on August 6, 2015. The ‘I Love You’ performance was recorded at the same time as the “Drowning’ cover, but was only uploaded to YouTube by Lido this week. Featuring big brass sounds and shrill strings, KORK holds their own in the electronic realm that Lido built around them.
Lido himself sits front and center in the video, providing vocals while playing on a variety of synthesizes and a grand piano. His keyboard solos really drive the track home, combining the “human” nature of the live performance with the “electronic” nature of his music, proving that he is a fantastic musician.
