When one of the biggest names in popular music meets (arguably) the most iconic trapster in a remixed tune, it will typically make some splashy headlines. During his most recent show, RL Grime previewed a previously unheard track, a remix of The Weeknd‘s “The Hills“. The preview video of the song unveils an uplifting banger, where the combination of pop R&B and trap deliver an approachable song that also has the same dark intensity behind much of RL Grime’s songs. The bass heavy hook coupled with The Weeknd’s pop vocals produce a song that can be both a radio hit because of its aesthetic, and a fan favorite because of its melodic and beat based complexity. Though the song hasn’t been released yet, you can check out videos below for a brief preview of RL Grime’s take on “The Hills”, as well as a more full recap of one of his non-festival sets.

UPDATE:
RL Grime has uploaded the full remix to his SoundCloud and it’s a beauty.
UPDATE #2:
SoundCloud took down the track roughly two hours after the release. Thankfully, we still have YouTube.
