The San Francisco-based label truly embodies everything about the word family, and everyone, from the artists, to the fans, are all part of the dirtybird family. Justin Jay is the youngest artist on the dirtybird roster, but the LA-native has proven again and again that age is only a number. While he may be a few years behind his peers in age, Justin Jay is right up there in talent, production skills and now vocals, and it could not be more evident on his latest Mom, I Graduated! EP.
The tech-house virtuoso is closing out the summer strong with this two-track offering that sees him making his vocal debut, in addition to featuring his usual, forward-thinking production. The first song, “Hit It,” has been very well-received since its announcement, but now the second, “Rain Dance,” is getting some time in the spotlight. On “Rain Dance,” Justin Jay deftly showcases his multi-faceted abilities, as he effortlessly blends tribal-influenced melodies with thumping kicks and heady synths to create a tune that is dripping in vibes.
