Amidst the dream catchers and super blood moon, and people clad in the remnants of Burning Man, this past Sunday’s Get Lost LA 2015 brought together DJ’s like Damien Lazarus and Eduardo Castillo to a secluded garden-like venue in the heart of Hollywood. It was fairly modest in the beginning, with steady dance beats warming up the early birds. But as the night continued, Castillo and Lazarus grew the crowd with their power to entertain and tease build-ups before dropping into louder, more exploratory, bass, giving the steady beat vibrancy. It was at first strange to see, essentially a mini Burning Man, happening right next to the CNN building. But it was easy to disregard big business with the potent smell of weed and mesmerizing tribal dancing blocking the outside world and keeping only good ‘desert’ vibes inside.
