A year ago, Australia’s Ta-Ku showed us what a heartbreak sounded like with his emotive EP, Songs to Break Up To, solidifying himself as arguably the world’s premiere____, and continuing Future Classic’s standards of innovation. It would seem Ta-Ku has had some time to heal, and is making amends with his follow-up EP, Songs to Make Up To, out now on Fool’s Gold Records in tandem with Future Classic.
The tracks on this EP are eerily accurate to the emotions and internal thoughts you would expect to have as you being rebuilding the bridge of a fallen relationship. Tracks like: “Hopeful,” “Love Again,” “Work in Progress,” and “Trust Me” are all as profoundly heartfelt as they are fittingly titled. If you’re looking for up tempo, happy-go-lucky vibes, look elsewhere; this EP mirrors the difficult reality that is love and it pays its respects with meticulously crafted slow burners that’ll have you reaching for the box of tissues in a hot minute.
