Nicky Romero – Lighthouse
After taking a backseat in terms of solo releases to man the helm at his incredibly successful label, Protocol Recordings, Nicky Romero is back with “Lighthouse.” Initially appearing exclusively on Spotify, “Lighthouse” commemorates Protocol’s 50th release. The track is a signature Romero anthem, opening with soulful and catchy vocals, courtesy of UK-based singer Daniel Shah, layered over a guitar and percussion influenced arrangement. “Lighthouse” quickly builds as Shah’s vocals soar and the guitars give way to a progressive drop that will be sure to have fans dancing and singing along all summer long. Thankfully, “Lighthouse” is just the first in a trio of planned released from the Dutch DJ/Producer, the second of which is a collaboration with Nile Rodgers, celebrated disco-funk legend. Romero may have taken a step out of the spotlight for a brief while, but if “Lighthouse” is any indication, it was time well spent. “Lighthouse” is now available on iTunes, Spotify, and Beatport.
