Lately, music festivals have been popping up in some of the most creative places around the planet. Examples include the Star Wars Mos Espa movie set, the Innervisions party in Barcelona held in an ancient Catalonian fortress and Mysteryland returning to the fabled home of the original Woodstock.
Now, China is being brought into the exotic festival venue mix with the YingYang Festival having it’s three day festivities at the Great Wall of China from June 20-22. The event will feature performances from the likes of Juno Reacto, Cesqeaux, Adam Swain, Sulumi, Kamara and Frits Wentink along with a healthy supporting cast from the underground scene.
Having a 2,000 person cap on the venue, there is no doubt that there will be a massive police presence due to the known fact that the Chinese like to keep a lid on their people’s activities. Furthermore, authorities will want to ensure that the Great Wall is not damaged due to its status of being a UNESCO World Heritage site. This won’t be the first time a DJ has smashed the decks atop of the world famous monument, as Paul Oakenfold did his thing way back in 2003.
