The 4th annual EDMbiz Conference and Expo hosted by Insomniac will take place June 16-18 in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. EDMbiz is not only one of the world’s premier gatherings of electronic music’s brightest minds and well-respected industry leaders, but the three-day long conference also marks the beginning of the official EDC week in Sin City, leading up to Insomniac’s flagship festival, Electric Daisy Carnival.
EDMbiz brings together the entire global dance music community, whether it be executives, managers, artists, agents, or even young hopefuls, opening up the dialogue and touching upon present day issues specific to the business of electronic music – such as technological advancements, advertising and branding, social media, festivals, and more. 2014 marked the biggest EDMbiz conference yet, with panels featuring Hardwell, his manager, Anna Knaup, his tour manager, Manny Zelaya, Th3rd Brain Management’s Jake Udell, and many many more.
There aren’t very many chances to hear the thoughts of some of dance music’s most connected and well spoken executives, and you don’t want to miss an opportunity like EDMbiz. Here are our five reasons why you should attend EDMbiz 2015. Tickets for the conference are available here.
1. The Keynote Presentations and Panel Speakers
EDMbiz is a two-day, three-night conference, and the two days are spent listening to forward-thinking and innovative panelists and keynote presentations by some of the industry’s brightest minds. Last year, Hardwell and his team spoke about their path to success, and how they were able to build a brand for the Dutch titan and turn him into one of dance music’s first superstars.
Krewella’s manager, Jake Udell, lead a panel featuring Andrew Keller, Columbia Records’ Director of A&R, Danny Bell, Director of Marketing and Talent Buying for HARD Events, Michael George, an artist manager for the Scooter Braun projects, Mike Darlington, CEO of Monstercat, Adéllyn Polomski, Director of EDM Initiatives for Clear Channel Media, and Nathan Lim, cofounder of Th3rd Brain, covering the topic of up-and-coming, young music execs who are making big waves in the industry.
2. It’s the Kick Off of EDC Week
There is perhaps no bigger week in Las Vegas than EDC Week. With both EDMbiz and EDC, nearly every person in the music industry, artists, managers, and thousands of fans make the journey to Las Vegas, and are all staying on the Strip, going to the same parties, and attending the same conference. Hundreds of thousands of electronic music fans take over Las Vegas, and this isn’t something you want to miss.
3. The Nighttime Club Events
What would an electronic music conference be if there weren’t great parties? EDMbiz isn’t all panelists and keynote speakers, as once the sun sets, the business cards are traded for beers, and everyone is ready to have a good time. Badge holders to EDMbiz get exclusive access to some of the best nightclubs in Las Vegas, hosted by Insomniac, featuring some of the best DJs that are in Las Vegas. Last year, The Crystal Method kicked off EDC Week and EDMbiz with their special 20th anniversary performance at Drai’s Nightclub, and the rest of the week was filled with performances by Dada Life, Dash Berlin, Madeon, Avicii, and more.
4. A Chance to Network
Regardless if you’re a young hopeful looking to break into the music industry or the head of a record label, EDMbiz offers a chance to network and meet people that you’ve never had the opportunity to meet. With so many people in Las Vegas with the same purpose, there are ample opportunities to meet the right agent, a label head you’ve been trying to get in contact with, or even just your favorite artist!
5. Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas!
There is no better reason to attend EDMbiz than what is happening at the end of it – Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. Insomniac’s flagship festival features more than 200 performers spread across over seven stages, with music running from 7 pm to 7 am. EDC Las Vegas is one of the world’s premier electronic music festivals, and the lineup this year is massive.
