To say Madeon has been having a good month would be a massive understatement. On March 27th, the French prodigy dropped his debut studio album Adventure. The album blew the electronic music world away with 18 fresh tracks that manage to stay consistent with Madeon’s unique blend of fun and energetic dance music. Adventure was received very well both critically and commercially, topping Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart. By selling 11,000 copies in its first week, Adventure beat out superstar contenders such as Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Jack Ü.
In addition to dropping a hit album that marked the culmination of his life’s work, Madeon still found time to deliver an impeccable Mini Mix for BBC Radio 1. The mix heavily emphasizes his new work on the album, featuring tracks such as “You’re On”, “Pixel Empire”, “Ok” and his classic hit “Technicolor”. One big highlight is his mashup of RL Grime’s “Scylla” and his own track “La Lune”. This is promptly followed by another excellent mashup of Point Point’s “Life In Grey” and his song “Nonsense”. This mix packs a ton of excellent music into a mere five minutes, and it showcases Madeon’s immense talent as both a producer and DJ.
