Preview KOAN Sound’s Forthcoming ‘Forgotten Myths’ EP

Will Weeks and Jim Bastow, a.k.a. UK’s finest rapid beat, bass heavy production duo, KOAN Sound, took to Facebook this week past to announce their forthcoming EP, Forgotten Myths. The EP, which is expected to be released May 4th, is the duo’s first release since their 2013 collaborative EP with Asa, entitled Sanctuary. 

Accompanying the big announcement was an even bigger EP preview on KOAN Sound’s Soundcloud; a 6 minute mini-mix showcasing an unknown number of tracks taken from Forgotten Myths. Pulling inspiration from a plethora of their collective influences which vary from jazz drums and heavy baselines to fast beats and 70’s funk, KOAN Sound’s new EP preview demonstrates the far reaching span of the duo’s production talent and creativity. Renowned for switching up tempos and styles that align with their signature sound, the genre-defying duo continuously cranks out pristine and smart productions with impossibly clean baselines, intricate percussion and subtle, yet interesting layers. While the lengthy preview is enough to hold us over for now, we can’t wait to get the full taste of KOAN Sound’s Forgotten Myths.
