People are still talking about Kaskade‘s headlining set from Coachella Weekend 1, but now, he’s looking towards Weekend 2. In keeping with the number 2, Ryan Raddon will be playing 2 sets at this weekend’s festival. He will still be headlining the main stage, but he surprised us all with the announcement that he’s bringing his deeper side for a special Redux performance on Saturday. He will be playing at the Do Lab stage for what is sure to be a unique experience. Kaskade’s Redux shows are usually reserved for smaller club settings, but he also brought the show to EDC Las Vegas last year at a small art cart stage.
In addition to this announcement, Kaskade sat down for an interview during IMS Engage in Los Angeles, where he talked about why he dislikes the term “future house”. This was in response to his most recent single, “Never Sleep Alone“, which tends to fit into the ever changing category.
“I don’t like the phrase ‘future house’ because house is the future…Yes, it sounds like ‘future house,’ but I’ve always concentrated on what happens in nightclubs, and that’s what I’ve been hearing.”
Whatever you want to call Kaskade’s musical style, just get ready to be impressed twice during Coachella Weekend 2.
UPDATE:
The Do LaB has decided to cancel Kaskade’s Redux set due to the fact that the small stage cannot support the large number of people expected to attend. You can read the official statement below:
We are sorry to report that Saturday night’s Kaskade Redux set at the Do LaB stage has been cancelled. The word got out…
