djay, the iPad and iPhone-based DJing app by Algoriddim, just re-vamped the app’s capabilities by extending its reach to the Apple Watch. Once downloaded onto an iPhone, iPad or laptop, this DJ app turns your watch into the world’s smallest, wrist-ready DJ controller. It allows Apple Watch owners to sync two songs to a deck from their iTunes library where they can then mix, loop and fade between tracks. Aspiring accessory DJs can also choose between a few audio FX for a richer, more realistic DJing experience, all while looking down at their wrist.
While we doubt that we will be seeing Hardwell, Carl Cox or Skrillex take the stage with nothing but the watch on their wrists, this is an intriguing innovation and it has us wondering what’s next in the world of DJ technology. Check out the introductory video for the djay app on Apple Watch below.
