One of the hardest and least fun parts about indulging in a solid night out is waking up the next morning as your alarmingly hungover self tries to recount all the blurry, inebriated transactions from the night before. Thankfully, the good folks over at Eventbrite empathized with this struggle, as they recently set out to uncover how much an average nightlife enthusiast spends when they’re out, and where, specifically, all the cash goes. By analyzing their collection of data, Eventbrite came up with a nifty chart that explains how the average event-goer spends their money. While most people can’t resist drinks accompanied by late-night snacking, its the ticket prices to events that make up the majority of late night spending, and also serves as a catalyst for further nighttime spending.
According to Eventbrite’s stats, the average event-goer spends $81 dollars a night and goes out at least twice a week; about $162 a weekend if you indulge in two nights of ticket buying, drinks, food and transportation. After dropping a good chunk of money on tickets, most night owls will have an average of three drinks, with 18% of people indulging in five or more drinks. Ridesharing apps such as Uber and Lyft are one of the most popular ways to get around at night, and a popular place to spend your money, while late night snacking only proves to make a minor dent in the nighttime budget.
