While many of us probably still encounter people who don’t take electronic music or the scene seriously, the producers of Shark Tank seems to think differently. This Friday, the reality competition show will feature rave accessory company EmazingLights & iHeartRaves. Last year, the business was named one of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the US. As EmazingLights prepares to make its next move, founder Brian Lim is ready to face the sharks. From the preview provided by the show, it appears that Mr. Lim was certainly able to impress the panel and spur some investment. In Season 5, another dance music-related company, SpiritHoods, went on the show and left empty-handed, but we’re hoping this won’t be the case when EmazingLights enters the tank on Friday.
UPDATE:
As we predicted, Brian Lim entered the tank and blew every single shark away. He received an offer from all 5 sharks, which is something that doesn’t happen too often. Ultimately, it came down to Lori and Robert (offering $1 million for 5% of the company) vs Mark and Daymond (offering $650,000 for 5% of the company as well as 20% from any licensing deals). In a shocking move, Lim turned down the million dollars, which was $350,000 more than he was asking for, to partner with Mark and Daymond, proving that it’s not all about the money.
