Bassnectar teased fans with some huge news via his Twitter last week when he posted a picture that confirmed an upcoming collaboration with Rage Against the Machine’s legendary guitarist, Tom Morello. Although he makes a living in electronic music, Bassnectar is no stranger to the rock arena. Known for sprinkling his sets across the globe with his own rendition of RATM’s “Killing In The Name Of” and deriving constant influence from his metal and rock roots, many would consider him electronic music’s version of a rock star. That being said, Bassnectar isn’t the only one in this duo that finds inspiration in other genres. Tom Morello was quoted recently saying that heavy electronic acts like Knife Party, Skrillex and Bassnectar are the ‘new metal. Seeing as both artists are eager to dip into the other’s genre of expertise, it’s no wonder why this huge piece of news that has both rock and electronic enthusiasts buzzing.
