Porter Robinson Nominated For ‘Artist Of The Year’ At MTVu Woodie Awards

Porter Robinson is undoubtedly one of America’s vanguard producers. The 22-year old Chapel Hill native achieved international recognition by age 18 and produced 3 records that reached number 1 on Beatport’s overall chart before the age of 21. It is an understatement to claim that Porter Robinson had an explosive year in 2014. His Worlds album was composed with beautiful and intricate detail and the tour to follow was nothing short of spectacular. The Worlds experience has earned a coveted spot in this year’s Coachella lineup and now, Porter Robinson is finally receiving the recognition he so truly deserves for his stunning work. 

Porter has been nominated for MTVu‘s Woodies Artist Of The Year and has some stiff competition. Porter rivals recent 4-time Grammy winner Sam Smith, J Cole, Charli XCX, Run The Jewels and FKA Twigs for the title.

Other electronic acts that have been nominated for a Woodie include tropical house sensation Kygo for Best Emerging Artist and Skrillex for Next Level Performance. Skrillex received another nomination thanks to his Jack U project with Diplo, as they are up against Alesso and others for Best Collaboration Between Artists.
