More technological advances in the world of DJing continue to pop up and surprise even the most tenured of DJs. Teaming up with a kickstarter project involving Algoriddim, creator of the djay app and the interactive paper company Novalia, DJ QBert’s new album, Extraterrestria, is a real breath of fresh air. The vinyl casing, which doubles as a MIDI controller with the Algoriddim djay iOS app.
DJ Qbert’s interactive album artwork comes complete with cue buttons, touch sensitive jog wheels and cross-fader that controls the Algoriddim app when connected via bluetooth through an iPad or iPod. Amassing over $128k in donations when there was only a goal of $100k means the funders will be receiving a copy of this latest innovation to the djing world. A few copies will also be available to the general public as well.
