The last few months for Medicinne have been quite uplifting. Receiving praise from Jose Gonzalez himself on their remix of “This Is How We Walk” and having it played by Dixon at the end of one of his BPM sets, all while releasing an EP on Audiophile Deep back in December. With the paradigm shift of deep house, Medicinne seemingly has kept to the roots of this genre that is highly susceptible to change.
They’ve gone back to the remix game with their latest track. The original they are working off of comes from the group Opencloud, hailing from NYC/Dallas and having years of experience and a back catalog to boot. A heavy start out of the gate complete with blunt stabs and shuffling hi-hats, a hook is comprised of a verse distorted enough to blend into the coming bassline. “Bring It Round” takes a healthy helping of deep and tech house, mashes it all together to create one addictive tune. Keeping it similar to the original, Medicinne slims their’s down without comprising the funkiness brought forth from the initial offering.
