Following a somewhat abrupt parting from his former agency, it looks like Tropical House superstar Kygo has quickly found a home underneath the wing of one of the most powerful men in dance music.
Kygo will now be joining heavyweight Joel Zimmerman, Head of Global Electronic Music at William Morris Endeavor, a man who was voted number four on Rolling Stone Magazine’s “50 Most Important People in EDM,” Zimmerman represents some of the biggest and most talented dance music superstars in the scene today. Kygo joins the likes of Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Kaskade and Afrojack after a breakout 2014 that saw him release his debut single, as well as booking upcoming slots at 2015’s Ultra Music Festival and Coachella. And of course, with the announcement of the Counterpoint lineup this morning, it looks like the Norwegian youngster is headlining that as well. It’s an amazingly positive partnership for both WME and Kygo, as Kygo isn’t going anywhere any time soon within the dance music space. It is a massive win for what is already the king of agencies.
After making so many massive steps in 2014, there are high expectations in 2015 for the tropical house innovator. Not to mention, working alongside some of the names mentioned above could lead to some very interesting and unique collaborations. Stay tuned for what should be an extremely exciting year.
