In order to help brand their Hottest 100 list – a user generated list of the top 100 tracks of the year- Triple J needed a fresh theme song to go along with it. The Triple J Hottest 100 list is a pretty big deal, especially in its home country (Australia, for those not familiar with the nationally-funded radio station), so not just any theme song would do. No, this year, the fine people at Triple J are going all out, and they have recruited 40 artists to all work on the song together. Obviously, this is not only the best approach, but the only approach. So, in comes The Presets, Lorde, Courtney Barnett, Angus & Julia Stone, Hilltop Hoods, Vance Joy, Illy and Peking Duk, as well as the dance music heavy hitters, Flume, Disclosure, and Skrillex, all wonderfully adding to the hilarity of the request. How would a song with 40 collaborators even sound like? Do we event want to know? This is a parody, right (yes, for those of you internet keyboard warriors)? Either way, check out the parody below, and look out for news of how dance music does on the forthcoming Triple J Hottest 100 list. You can also do your part, and vote as well, right here.
