Azealia Banks – Chasing Time (Emoh Instead & Zebarah Remix)
Emoh Instead has had quite a lot of work this past year. 2014 saw a rocketed rise in popularity for his side project with Flume, What So Not, and he’s kept a steady flow of live performances and impressive remixes. Somewhere amidst all this, he’s come to know a new group by the name Zebarah (no seriously, they’ve only had a Facebook for a day, as of writing this post). They toyed around the studio this past weekend, and the result of this play time was a sexy Azealia Banks ‘Chasing Time‘ remix.
The original is an up-tempo nu-disco, R&B, hip hop fusion of soulful vocals and an undeniable set commanding grooves. Emoh Instead and Zebarah take things down into a more intimate setting, utilizing a bass with notably more sonority and booming percussion set that drives along vocal loops and piano/synth layered chords. It’s deep, there’s no doubt about that. If ya dig this ‘Chasing Time’ remix, and wanna support Zebarah and their “music for zebras,” you can get their following up and running on Soundcloud and Twitter. Looking forward to more work from this crew, so a big thanks to Emoh Instead is due for getting this crew off to a great start.
