Slander & NGHTMRE – Ascension (Original Mix)
L.A residents and trap kings SLANDER have teamed up with mad-bass enthusiast NGHTMRE for a track that absolutely pounds bass into you. ‘Ascension’ starts out true enough to its name -nowhere near where it ends up going. Soulful pads glide around a calm synthesizer lead. The ascension quickly begins, however, as aggressive tensions and vocal samples collide for what is an absolute nightmare of a drop (in a good way, of course). The juxtaposition of breakdown to drop being so extreme is something we’ve definitely seen from these guys before, and it is executed particularly well in ‘Ascension’. The bass on this track will surely give listeners that fuzzy feeling in the chest during live performances, and the aggressiveness is clearly buoyed by NGHTMRE’s presence on the collaboration. ‘Ascension’ is a massive release for both artists, and it is one we would reckon you’ll see in a multitude of trap sets this winter.
