In a move by one of the most respected innovators throughout electronic music, Mat Zo has announced the forthcoming launch of his own record label founded upon industry-wide groundbreaking principles. On August 11th, after years of planning, “Mad Zoo” becomes a reality. In true outside-of-the-box fashion, Mat Zo’s label will feature each release with a free download option on his Soundcloud page for the first week of the track’s release.
Matan had this to say about his vision:
“I’ve always wanted a quicker outlet for my music, so awhile ago I decided to release some of my music for free on Soundcloud. The only problem with this is if I want to license the track out, or even put the track on YouTube, there has to be a label structure around it. The plans for Mad Zoo had been underway for years, so I decided to use the venture as a new way for me to release music quickly, yet still have infrastructure around it. Â I will still continue to work with other labels in the conventional way.”
The inaugural Mad Zoo release is of Mat Zo & The Knocks‘ “quirky disco-house flavored jam” ‘Get Down 2 Get Up‘ as well as an EP entitled “Mad Zoo 001 – Up, Down, Left, Right” including the brand new track ‘Left To Right‘
