Dance music’s favorite class clown, Dillon Francis, has been keeping busy this year, headlining festivals around the world with electrifying, genre leaping, sets while getting accustomed to being one of the biggest names in the scene. With his highly anticipated first studio album Money Sucks, Friends Rule set for release on October 28th, its contents (with the exception of Get Low) have been completely unheard by the public, outside of a handful of picks Francis decides to put into his DJ sets. Lucky for all lovers of the I.D.G.A.F.O.S. phrase inventor he featured his second single When We Were Young on Sirius XM’s BPM, and the new track displays just the kind of range we’d expect for L.A.’s hometown hero. It’s a fun progressive house piece that has a unique rock-esque feel due to the excellent vocals of The Chain Gang of 1974 and subtlety implanted guitar riffs. The track embodies a real end of summer vibe that’ll make you reminisce about a summer filled with great memories and awesome friends. With two quality releases under his belt from Money Sucks, Friends Rule, we can only be excited for what the rest of the album holds. Check out “When We Were Young” and be sure to pre-order the album.
