Charly Friedricks, the director and founder of FINAL KID, has released his first installment to depict Ultra’s South Africa appearance. UMF Films Presents: Relive Ultra South Africa 2014 (Colours and Waves) is a stunning glimpse into the sold out two day festival which took over Cape Town and Johannesburg earlier this year. The captivating after-movie allows those who were fortunate enough to attend the event to relive their experiences, while allowing those who weren’t present to have a quick look at what they missed out on. The after-movie kicks off with electronic duo Goldfish, who originate from Cape Town, giving viewers their first hand account of the current status of electronic dance music in South Africa. Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Krewella, Nicky Romero, Alesso and Afrojack are a few of the many acts that also make appearances in this magically captured after-movie.
When discussing the different approach the Final Kid team and Ultra have decided to take, Friedrichs stated, “As more and more editions of Ultra pop up around the world, we really think it’s crucial that each after-movie tells its own unique story; not just the story of the amazing experience Ultra has to offer, but of the history and culture present throughout the incredible destinations into which Ultra is expanding”. After seeing the incredible success of the 2014 festival, Ultra South Africa will be returning to Cape Town’s Ostrich Farm and Johannesburg’s Nasrec Expo Grounds on February 13th and 14th of 2015.
