Chicago’s music scene was delivered a big blow today after noise complaints led to the cancellation of the Wavefront Music Festival. The festival, which was to take place July 5-7 at Montrose Beach, received heavy criticism last year stemming from noise, traffic and poor festival management. The fate of the festival was decided on April 29th by Alderman James Cappleman but the festival originally denied the claims. Now the promoters have announced that it is indeed cancelled after they could not find another venue to host the event. They are looking forward to working out a deal for next year, but in the meantime there will be no dancing on the beaches of Chicago this Independence Day weekend. Watch the video below and relive last year’s festival.
