Take one of the America’s sexiest DJs, put him in an already sexy red, white, and blue soccer uniform, and what do you get? This new patriotic campaign from Nike featuring Diplo (and maybe a new phone background to drool over). Other entertainment figures selected to show off the new kit include breakout rock band HAIM and director Spike Lee. It’s certainly a varied collection of artists, who will bring attention to Team USA to followers of dance music, indie rock, and film, who might not otherwise be sports fanatics.
The uniforms are now available to purchase as the FIFA World Cup draws ever closer, starting on June 12 in Brazil. And sure, the entire team is going to look great in these too, as we cheer them on when they hit the field alongside Germany, Portugal, and Ghana at the start of the Cup (Ed.: On a side note, did anyone else see that defense last night again Mexico? Cristiano Ronaldo is going to have a field day back there if we don’t tighten up). But for now, the bass-booming, panty-dropping Major Lazer member is already getting us to start shouting “USA! USA!”. Can this be a regular modeling gig, Nike?
