Although this happened at the BPM Festival back in January, in the beautiful Mexican city of Playa del Carmen, this video of Richie Hawtin and Dubfire playing a set in a local taco shop is just spreading among fans. Richie had played two extensive sets as part of his ‘ENTER.’ concept earlier in the festival, so perhaps a venue that could refuel the hungry DJ and surprise passersby was the next step for a techno takeover.
Only dropping a few hints on social media for savvy fans, Richie began setting up shop at Taquería El Sabrocito Del Fogón early in the evening. Within an hour, the sidewalks were packed with dancers and onlookers wanting to be a part of the #TechnoTacos experience. Word has it that Richie and Dubfire (aka Ali) wanted to play at that particular joint for years. Check out the delicious recap video (which also includes scenes from the rest of ENTER.) below!
