Journeyman – Spend It All
Label: Anjunadeep | Release Date: April 7th, 2014
Back at the start of this year, the deeper house imprint of Above & Beyond’s beloved Anjuna empire promised fans they would add new sounds and artists to the family. The catchy single “Givin’ It Up” (and its subsequent remixes) from label newbie Lancelot more than fulfilled expectations. And as springtime finally arrives, even more new artists are ready to blossom. Hence, the A&R folks at Anjunadeep have introduced a preview from UK duo Journeyman’s forthcoming label debut.
“Spend It All” showcases the signature smooth beats that would fit in perfectly on any Anjunadeep compilation or mix. But as the label continues to welcome adventurous new artists, something stands out about Journeyman. The short 3-minute preview just isn’t enough to get lost in the rabbit hole-inducing progressions, but it certainly gets listeners ready to, as the super low-end beats drive the track along a (dare I say it?) journey.
With only one other previous EP under their belt (and a BBC R1 featured Brookes Brothers remix), Journeyman are certainly newcomers to the scene, but if their beats were infectious enough to catch the attention of Anjunadeep ears, we know we’re in for a treat in the future. Check back for the full release on April 7th.
