The votes are in and Beatport has announced the winners of the 2014 awards. The winners were decided by a panel of Beatport staff writers and dance music veterans, as well as community voting, and have been announced over the course of today via Beatport’s Twitter and Instagram pages.
Daft Punk once again claims the top prize of best-selling album of the year for RAM, while Martin Garrix won best-selling track for ‘Animals’. DJ Cajmere was honored with a lifetime achievement award for all that he has done for electronic music and specifically house music over the past 20 years. Spinnin’ Records also brought home the hardware for best label, mostly due to the explosion of big room sound. Some of the other stand out artists include Flume for best new artist, Martin Garrix for DJ Choice Award, Armin Van Buuren for community choice album of the year and Nina Kraviz for DJ of the year.
