Early this morning, the popular music streaming site announced that it will be offering their services for free to all mobile devices, including tablets and cell phones. This service was originally only for paying customers, where the free service was exclusively for browser based listeners.
Brought to you by the Spotify app, available for both Android and iOS platforms, listeners will now be able to listen wherever they desire. The service will allow the user to stream music in a fashion similar to the likes of Pandora, with restrictions the exact tracks you wish to listen to (and you will still have to suffer through commercial breaks, though rather infrequently).
“We’re giving people the best free music experience in the history of the smartphone,” Ek said. “Spotify for mobile is no longer just for people who subscribe to Premium… and the more you play, the more likely you are to play.”
