Tiesto Joins the Fight Against AIDS by Raising Over Half a Million Dollars

Back in 2012, much of the EDM community was gathered behind Tiesto in his first ever DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES compilation album. This was an album that featured tracks by a variety of top artists, in an attempt to both raise money and awareness to the fight against the AIDS virus. Upon its release, this album shot to a #1 position on the iTunes dance music charts. This set a new record for EDM artists supporting The Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Now, the sales for the 2012 DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES album- alongside generous contributions from Tiesto himself- have helped to raise over $500,000 for The Global Fund. These funds are used to help pay for prevention and treatment programs, counseling, as well as HIV testing and care services.

Tiesto goes on to say:

I’m thrilled that the dance community has come together to raise awareness and provide a significant contribution to the fight against AIDS. Working on DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES and helping to spread its message has been an honor and I’m very proud of the money that we have raised,

Now with World AIDS Day 2013, (RED) and Recreation Worldwide are planning on releasing a new compilation album with similar goals in mind. This album will feature exclusive tracks, such as Tiesto’s remix of “Love and Run” along with other EDM artists.

Deborah Dugan, the CEO of (RED) states:

As we prepare to launch this year’s World AIDS Day campaign, we cannot express enough gratitude to Tiësto for helping to make DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES such a perfect way for young people to engage in the goal to deliver an AIDS free generation. . .

More information about this upcoming album will be released early this month. Keep your eyes and ears out, and join the fight against this global issue.
