There is a power struggle going on in the world of EDM right now, and every company is looking for ways to strengthen its hand as the stakes and money get higher. Sony and Ultra Music are the latest big players to make moves, announcing a strategic partnerships between the two companies. The deal will allow artists to be cross featured on both the Sony and Ultra labels, as well as allowing for cross marketing, promotion, and representation. Artists on Ultra Music’s label include Kaskade and Calvin Harris. Under terms of the deal, Patrick Moxey, owner of Ultra Music, will become the new President of Electronic Music. Moxey released a statement which can be read below.
