Skrillex is by far the hardest working ultra-producer to date. Leading OWLSA and being a supreme producer, Sonny has had a extraordinary successful year stampeding through unprecedented boundaries. With attaining a mix array of achievements such as his Acid Techno side project Dog Blood with Boyz Noise, which took the country by storm on their recent tour early this year, the highly anticipated partnership with Diplo called Jack U, and a residency at Las Vegas Nightclub LIGHT.
Skrillex never ceases his hunger for success nor does he cease to disappoint with his performances, which comes as no surprise as he unleashed an onslaught of new heavy artillery music at HARD’s Day of the Dead this past weekend. He had loaded clips that were filled of unparalleled energy, riddled behemoth growls and gargles, laced with blaring lasers, and tsunami waves of wobbles. Only to leave the crowd with an electrify roar and unexpected surprises, which was intended only to have the audience gasping for more. His selection contained a handful of new original music and a showcase of remixes and bootlegs of favorites like “Kyoto” and “Bangarang.”
During his performance, Skrillex still attained his classic Skrillex elements of darkness with electrifying hair raising bass, deep kicks, and profound intensity all smashed at an intersection of where dance hall, dubstep, electro house, and trap music collide. He opens up his set to what was rumored to be called “Too Much Power,” which sounded like the full mastered version than what was portrayed in his Essential Mix for earlier this year, constituting as his hardest Dubstep tune to date.
All great things must to end, and as his as last effort, he presents us with his new melodic dubstep remix entitled “DJ Ease My Mind by Niki & The Dove. As Skrillex closes his set, he instructs the crowd to put their hands up and lighters up to illuminate the vibe. Flamethrowers take to the sky as the crowd roars alongside, while the song delivers soaring vocals to uplift us to only transition into electrifying lasers and a tsunami of chest pounding bass. It was truly and emotional wrap up to a flawless comeback set. The OWSLA King has made it crystal clear that he is back and has a ruthless appetite in 2014.
