Andrew Bayer has released the official music video to his latest single, “Need Your Love”. The track is off of Bayer’s critically acclaimed sophomore effort, If It Were You, We’d Never Leave. If you have been following our Andrew Bayer news over the past few months, it should be no secret that we are enthralled with this album. It is worthy of mention as a potential candidate for any album of the year award. If you have not listened to it yet, do yourself a favor and do so immediately. Digression aside, “Need Your Love” is one of the stronger tracks on the album, and it’s use of organic sounds, ethereal piano chord progression, and haunting vocal samples make it a fantastic late summer tune.
The video itself is an ode to the hypnotic feel of the track, as we see a mysterious woman being lead through a beautiful forest landscape by a group of forest-dwelling children. It’s a strange video in terms of pinpointing a specific message – taking a shot in the dark here, but the children seem to believe that the woman is there spiritual mother/leader of sorts, and they take her on a spiritual journey that sees her morph into this ideal. It’s a gorgeous video in terms of cinematography, and is a perfect match for the musical styling of “Need Your Love”. Check out the video above, and be sure to check out the rest of If It Were You, We’d Never Leave and purchase the full length album on Beatport if you like it (pro tip: the full length album, without the youtube pauses and shortened Soundcloud track lengths, is an entirely different and superior experience).
