Its 2010 and one of your friends insists you listen to this new EP. You dont know the name attached to it but figure you’ll give it a try. Automatically hooked by the vocal sample, you’re enticed even further by the build up wondering what is about to happen. Suddenly, you’re hit with a combination of synths, screeches, wubbs and wobbles, all leading up to a melodic symphony of sound you can’t explain.
Sonny Moore, or more commonly Skrillex, was the biggest name in electronica at the time, and his breakthrough EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, made an enormous impact on the EDM community. In an age where most electronic tracks have a shelf life of about a month, its quite a feat for a song that most of us call our introduction to the scene to still hold its own as an awesome electro tune.
