Let’s be honest, an all EDM festival, on the beach, and in the city that is responsible for the birth of House music, pretty much sells itself. However, if you weren’t already convinced, we have the pleasure of offering you a unique look inside the festival through the eyes of myself and our incredibly talented cinematographer/editor. The video, which is available to view below, is compiled from our exclusive EDMTunes footage throughout our incredible weekend at Wavefront Music Festival in Montrose Beach in Chicago, IL.
Wavefront Music Festival was not your typical EDM festival, and I mean that in a completely positive way. It may not have held up to the sheer size of the Ultras, the EDCs, etc, but it managed to please fans of every sub genre of EDM. Whether you desired the hard hitting bass of a Diplo, the smooth deep house beats of a Nicolas Jaar, the mashups of a 3LAU, the classic trance of a Cosmic Gate, or the electro house offered by a Cedric Gervais, you left Montrose Beach thoroughly pleased. The festival also stretched far beyond just a musical experience. With the intricate sand sculptures, the intertwining of the the incredible Chicago skyline and beach, and the awe inspiring nightly firework shows, Wavefront offered an overwhelmingly beautiful visual experience for festival goers. This was especially true for individuals such as Caspa who told us, “I never knew there was a beach in Chicago.”
I can honestly say my trip to Wavefront this year will be the first of many. When I exited the gates Sunday night, I was both overwhelmed with happiness over what I had just experienced and filled with disappointment that I would have to wait another year to repeat it.
