As the EDM movement continues to evolve, the city of Boston will get a major dose of artists this upcoming week. The Ocean Nightclub, located in Quincy, Ma. will welcome major international acts with Armin van Buuren, Knife Party and Steve Aoki all making stops in the beach town.
On May 23rd, the club will open their Memorial Day Weekend festivities with Knife Party and follow it up with Steve Aoki the following night. R3hab and Quintino perform will perform Saturday, leaving Sunday up to the legendary Armin van Buuren. The Dutch trance producer is touring the United States in support of his latest album, “Intense”.
Quincy is not the only town to get support from EDM as the city itself will host a number of legends, and acts whose stock have risen over the past year. Above & Beyond will perform thrice in the city with dates scheduled from May 20th to May 22nd at the Royale Boston Club. The Bloody Beetroots are scheduled to perform on May 22nd, too at Paradise Rock Club in the heart of Boston. Thomas Gold will also be performing in the city at Bijou Nightclub on May 24th. The last show in the Boston area will see Eats Everything perform in Cambridge, Ma. on May 29th. Eats Everything is an amalgamation of British DJs and producers from the whole spectrum of dance music.
Those outside of Massachusetts should not fret, however, as neighboring states will also receive a good amount of artists performing at various venues.
All throughout May, the touring, Super Mario Bros themed rave Mario Party will be stopping all over New England. Providence, RI and Burlington, VT will be hosting it May 24th, and May 26th, respectively.
Swedish techno mastermind Eric Prydz, will be at Wallingford, CT.’s Oakdale Theater on May 31st.
With EDC New York already taking place, and Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, MD ready to begin their inaugural show in June, the whole northeast region will continue to evolve with the dance music movement.
