It’s here. After months of teasers, behind the scenes engineering videos, and lots of talk, the wait is over. Deadmau5 premiered the Cube 2.1 stage setup and production publicly for the first time in New York City on March 29th. As expected, it’s amazing. So amazing, in fact, it’s safe to start the discussion of where this set up ranks amongst the all-time greats.
The debut came in the first of a three-night stint at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom as the first stop of his lots of shows in a row tour. Lucky for us, some fans in attendance caught quality videos of the cube in action; including, an opening that builds more anticipation in 2 minutes than most will be able to handle. Most shows on the tour are already sold out, but tickets are still available in some cities. One piece of advice? Get them immediately!
The concept, the attention to detail, and the dedication to innovation have truly created one of the most unique experiences of all time. Which is exactly what we need in electronic music.
