ZHU Gives First Ever Studio Interview, Remains Anonymous

The name ZHU was all over the Internet rumor wire this weekend with speculation that Skrillex was actually the mystery man behind the ZHU project. Those rumors were squashed, but the real ZHU capitalized on all that publicity, giving his first and possibly last interview for a while with Lewis McKirdy of Triple J Australia.

The interview addressed a variety of topics from anonymity of ZHU, the EP, and how his vocals are created. Beginning with the anonymity, he revealed that his intentions were simply for listeners to judge the music for what it is, rather than by who created it. In addition, he confirmed that he records all of the vocals on ZHU tracks, despite the incredibly different variations that are implemented in the music.

While not confirmed by the man himself, ZHU is speculated to be Los Angeles born Steven Zhu. For now, his anonymity is still intact, though it remains to be seen for how long it will stay that way.
