As you’re all probably starting to realize, December means one thing in the music industry: end-of-the-year lists. We’ve already seen Billboard release their ‘Top Dance/Electronic Artists‘ list and now YouTube is joining in on the action by revealing the ‘Top Trending Music Videos of 2014‘.
Avicii may have dominated Billboard’s list, but the Swedish superstar didn’t even crack the top 25 on YouTube’s countdown. That doesn’t mean dance music didn’t make its presence known though, as a few videos come from some of the genre’s biggest names. Out of the 5 electronic acts on the list, Calvin Harris placed the highest at number 13 thanks to his music video for ‘Summer’. Coming in right behind Harris is The Chainsmokers, whose viral hit ‘#Selfie’ earned them the number 14 spot. David Guetta & Showtek, Ariana Grande featuring Zedd and Kiesza also found their way onto the list, placing at number 17, 18 and 22 respectively.
