The DJ Mag Top 100 results are in, the internet is abuzz with opinions of all flavors. The real results to seem to have stayed very true to the leaked results from edm-news.com, at least towards the top end of things. We’ve seen massive shifts in positions, like Blasterjaxx moving up 58 spots, and Martin Garrix moving up 36, as well as a plethora of new entries like the Oliver Heldens, Borgeous, 3LAU, and Deorro (coming in as the highest new entry at 19). But 2013’s king remains the same, as Hardwell retains the crown for yet another year.
The Revealed Recordings head has had a monumental year. Phase one of the I AM HARDWELL World Tour is almost at its close and he’s set to release his debut album ‘United We Are’ before kicking off phase two of his globe trotting tour. He’s also released a statement regarding the DJ Mag results, thanking his ever growing fan base and relating his excitement for 2015:
“…this is a dream that just keeps going! I’m extremely proud to find myself holding on to the title of #1 DJ in the world for another year. Last year was a moment in my career I had spent 10 years dreaming of but to be back on stage again, picking up the award for a second time in a row, is beyond my wildest dreams. To my fans, the music lovers and everyone else along the way during this roller coaster 12 month period, I just want to thank each and every one of you! Your support for my music and love for this scene is truly inspirational. I’m really looking forward to what 2015 will bring, with the arrival of my first full artist album, a new world tour and a bunch of other exciting projects, I know this new chapter in the journey is going to be the best part yet!”
The results of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll have historically been controversial and highly debatable, and with the high representation of big room artists and so many other new entries the debate will rage on. One thing that’s undeniable though, Hardwell has put forth the effort, performed to the highest of expectations, and earned the respect of many. Congratulations Hardwell, we wish you the best this coming year!
