Made Event, the production company behind New York City’s Electric Zoo Festival have been officially acquired by SFX Entertainment,”the world’s largest producer of live events and entertainment content focused primarily on electronic music culture.” SFX Chairman and CEO, Robert F.X. Sillerman explains:
“The acquisition of Made is strategically important for SFX, as it establishes a strong foothold for us in the New York City region… We plan to develop the Electric Zoo brand internationally and have the opportunity to build other SFX brands in the U.S. with the support of Mike, Laura and the team at Made.”
SFX now owns 100% of Made in this deal, after previously agreeing on 70% ownership of the company. The events giant also recently acquired ID&T in full, the production company behind Sensation and Tomorrowland, as well Totem OneLove group, the team behind Stereosonic in Australia.
Made released the following statement:
Although Electric Zoo will continue to be developed by the same team that has been on board since it’s inception, being part of something larger provides us with many new opportunities, like exciting technology that will improve the festival experience both online and at our events, creative collaboration with other SFX companies, and bringing Electric Zoo to new locations around the globe. In short, becoming part of the SFX family will enable us to bring more of what we do – only bigger and better – to you!
